Art Tent
Since 1976, artists have presented their handcrafted works at the Schwabing Christmas Market at Münchner Freiheit. The large art tent has been an integral part of the Christmas market for many years.
The idea is to allow the artists participating in the market to break out of the confines of their individual booths and showcase some larger pieces in a group exhibition. We are also delighted to offer this presentation opportunity each year to new guest artists who are not represented at the market. This provides the Schwabing Christmas Market with fresh perspectives from outside the market.
This unique exhibition platform was founded in 1994 by Peter Huf and led to great success under his management for 20 years. Since 2013/2014, the art tent has been managed by Stefanie von Quast.
Every year, thousands of visitors enjoy the interesting, fresh, and always surprising group exhibition, in which approximately 25 artists from all areas of visual art present their work.
The diverse art exhibition awaits you from Wednesday, November 25, 2026, until December 23 at 8 p.m. We look forward to your visit!
