The theme to this year’s Christmas Market is:
“We Live from the Work of our Hands”
Over 100 artists from all over Germany create a place in this hectic world where one can gather, relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere that is the “Schwabing’s Chistmas Market”. The concept has been one of an artists market from the very beginning. An unmistakable flair can be found here with the high level of artistic talent and craftsmanship. This is further underlined by the quality of the daily cultural programme and fine foods.

For many years the resident Schwabingers resisted the building development on Münchner Freiheit. Blessedly with success. Otherwise neither the the playground nor the cafe would exist, nor the numerous events, nor the Schwabing Christmas Market. Hence the Schwabing Christmas Market is the most beautiful far and wide, however because of multiplicity being offered there: Art and handicraft, beautiful articles of daily use and jewellery in a hundred small shops, a sculpture park, open-air theatre and a ragtag childrens programme, fairy tales in the afternoon and culinary delicacies.
